A Level Science Self-Study Materials: Biology, Physics and Chemistry (S5–S6)

This self-study package from the National Curriculum Development Centre is for A Level learners in Senior Five and Senior Six. It has three sections. The biology section covers cell ultrastructure, the fluid-mosaic membrane model, factors that affect photosynthesis, and how the nephron works in osmoregulation. The physics section covers reflection at plane surfaces, building a periscope, dimensional analysis of the equations of motion, and electrostatics, including charging by friction and by induction and the gold-leaf electroscope. The chemistry section introduces matter, atomic structure, sub-atomic particles and isotopes. Each lesson sets out learning outcomes and includes questions, practical activities with local materials, exercises and assignments for independent study.
