These Senior Three Commerce notes cover the documents used in foreign trade. They explain the bill of lading, exporter's and proforma invoices, certificates of origin and inspection, consular invoices, indents, letters of credit, export licences, airway bills and consignment notes. The notes also set out terms of sale in order of what each price includes, from ex-works through FOB and CIF to franco. Other sections define visible and invisible trade, balance of trade, balance of payments, terms of trade, bonded warehouses and entrepot trade. The notes describe intermediaries in import trade and end with the forms of economic integration, the conditions it needs to succeed, and its advantages and disadvantages.
