English Language Paper 1 (112/1) Holiday Package 1 – UCE Composition Practice

This two-page holiday package follows the Uganda Certificate of Education English Language Paper 1 (112/1) format and has a two-hour time allowance. Section A has a compulsory functional writing task. Learners write a letter to a relative living abroad about hardship at home while a guardian is seriously ill with Covid-19, and the paper gives guiding points. Section B has five composition topics of 500–600 words each. They include two narratives built around a given opening or closing line, a story based on a proverb, and argumentative essays on school uniform rules and co-curricular activities. The paper suits O-level learners who are revising letter and composition writing.
