S.4 English Language Holiday Work: Rewriting Sentences

This one-page holiday exercise is for Senior Four English Language learners and covers sentence transformation. It has ten sentences. For each one, learners must rewrite the sentence following a given cue while keeping the original meaning. The cues include starting with 'Unless', 'Having' or 'So', using 'not only... as well', joining two sentences into one, finishing with a given phrase, and changing direct speech into reported speech. The exercise helps learners practise grammar structures that often appear in the rewriting section of English Language exams. It suits holiday revision, homework or classroom practice. No answers are included.
