UCE English Language Paper 2 (112/2) – Standard High School Zzana

This two-hour English Language Paper 2 (112/2) was set by Standard High School Zzana for Uganda Certificate of Education candidates, and students write all answers on the question paper. Question 1 asks for a summary of no more than 120 words of an opinion article about the challenges facing traditional schools and how to address them. Question 2 has two comprehension passages. The first is a tribute to a late father, with open-ended questions and vocabulary items. The second is an extract from Ngugi's Devil on the Cross, with multiple-choice questions. Question 3 covers rewriting sentences as instructed, plus multiple-choice items on idioms, phrasal verbs, question tags and comparatives.
