UCE Fine Art Paper 1 (612/1) Studio Technology Exam

This is the Uganda Certificate of Education Fine Art Paper 1 (612/1), Studio Technology, with a time allowance of 2 hours 30 minutes. Candidates must answer every question, and they are encouraged to add illustrations. The short structured questions cover the principles of art and design, including balance, contrast, dominance and perspective. Other questions ask about types of sculpture and the tools used, colour and colour harmony, fabric decoration and printing techniques, making a paper loom, and preparing clay. The paper also covers texture, the difference between tools and materials, tie and dye compared with batik, the tjanting tool, and why crafts matter to the community. It works well for revision before the UCE exam.
