Middle Class Reading Lesson Notes, Term 1 (2018)

These reading lesson notes support Middle Class literacy teaching in Term 1. Weekly activities introduce letter sounds through oral practice, letter copying, matching, circling and colouring. Learners connect sounds with pictures, identify different letters, complete missing letters in words, and read simple words such as bag, cat and box. Later lessons introduce further sounds with example words, including hut, jug, kite and moon. The notes identify materials such as flash cards, charts, real objects, slates and coloured pencils, and provide short evaluation activities for classroom use.
