P.5 English Beginning of Term III Examination 2023

This Primary Five English paper was set as a beginning-of-term-three examination in 2023 and takes 2 hours 15 minutes. Section A tests grammar through gap-filling, word forms, abbreviations, question tags, plurals, opposites, one-word substitutes and sentence rewriting with structures such as 'unless', 'whose', 'neither…nor', 'too…to' and the passive voice. Section B covers reading skills. It includes a comprehension passage about a school sports day, a bar graph on the ages at which women married, a garage advert, an e-mail and an assembly notice. Learners also put a jumbled story in order and fill the gaps in a friendly letter. The paper is useful for practice and revision.
