P.5 English Composition and Comprehension Lesson Notes, Term 3

These Primary 5 English lesson notes for Term 3 are set out as teacher lesson entries. They cover two themes: Peace and Security, and Services (Banking). Learners study vocabulary about the police, courts, crime and banking. They practise grammar such as the passive voice and the patterns 'so...that', 'and', 'robbed of' and 'if...should'. The comprehension work includes a newspaper article, a police statement written as a dialogue, a poem and a passage about the work of the police. There are also a jumbled story to put in order, a picture composition and guided writing tasks such as writing a police statement and a short composition about why the police are important.
