Primary 5 Social Studies Lesson Notes (2018)

These Primary Five Social Studies lesson notes start with Term One. They first cover map work: maps compared with pictures, types of maps, the parts of a good map, compass directions, scales, and lines of latitude and longitude. Next they show where Uganda is, name its neighbouring countries, and explain the problems Uganda faces as a landlocked country. A large section covers Uganda's physical features, including plateaus, mountains, the rift valley, lakes and rivers, with notes on how these features formed, why they matter and how they affect people's activities. The notes then begin on climate and weather. They include short questions and worked examples that teachers and learners can use.
