Primary 5 Social Studies Scheme of Work, Term Two

This Primary 5 Social Studies scheme organises term two teaching into weekly lessons with subject and language competences, content, teaching methods and learner activities. Topics include ethnic groups, migration and settlement, pre-colonial social and political organisation, kingdoms, cultural practices and legends. It also addresses foreign traders, explorers, missionaries and their influence in Uganda. Entries connect lessons with life skills and values, suggest teaching aids, and cite curriculum and textbook references. Teachers can use the scheme to sequence lessons and plan classroom discussions, storytelling, map work and related activities.
