Renewable and Non-Renewable Natural Resources – S6 Geography Notes
0 views 0 downloads 0 shares 3 October 2026

These Senior 6 Geography notes start by defining natural resources and explaining the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources. They then cover the main renewable resources one at a time: soils, climate, water, natural vegetation and animal life. For each resource, the notes list the human and natural causes of degradation, such as deforestation, poor farming methods, pollution, overfishing, swamp reclamation and poaching. They also set out ways to conserve or renew each resource. African case studies are used throughout, including the Lake Chad Basin Organization, the Gezira irrigation scheme in Sudan, neem tree planting in northern Nigeria and terracing in the Kigezi highlands. The notes suit A-Level revision and essay preparation.
