This is a Uganda Certificate of Education exam paper for Islamic Religious Education Paper 1 (225/1), which covers the History of Islam. Candidates have two hours to answer four questions, choosing at least one from each section. Section A covers the Prophet Muhammad and the early Muslim community, including slavery in pre-Islamic Arabia, the migration from Mecca, the clash of 624 AD and the farewell pilgrimage. Section B covers the four Rightly Guided Caliphs: Abubakar, Umar, Uthman and Ali. Section C looks at Islam in Uganda: how the faith spread to Ankole and Northern Uganda, NAAM, Abdul Rahman Mivule and the founding of the UMSC. Each question has a mark allocation.
