Baby Class Language Development Beginning of Term III Exam 2023

This is a Beginning of Term III examination for Baby Class learners aged 3 to 4 years, written in 2023 for Learning Area 5: Language Development. The paper has five short picture-based tasks that build early literacy skills. Learners colour objects that begin with the sound 'e', trace and read a sound, and match sounds to the right pictures. They also match identical pictures to practise visual discrimination, then read and copy the letter sound 'h'. There is space at the top for the learner's name, school and class. It suits nursery teachers who want a ready-made test of early phonics and pre-writing skills at the start of the third term.
