English Language for Senior Two: Defining Clauses
0 views 0 downloads 0 shares 3 October 2026

These Senior Two English lesson notes introduce clauses and then focus on defining clauses. The notes refer to Practical English Book 2, pages 91–93. They review the idea of a clause and show how linking words such as 'after' and 'because' join two parts of a sentence. A pair of contrasting sentences shows how commas change meaning. A defining clause has no commas, identifies a particular noun or pronoun, and answers 'which?' or 'what sort?'. Several example sentences are included, along with spaces for learners to list what a defining clause does. The notes end with a classwork task asking learners to write eight defining sentences and underline the noun or pronoun being defined.
