S2 English: Conditional Sentences
0 views 0 downloads 0 shares 3 October 2026

These English notes introduce two ways of expressing conditions about the future. The first covers situations whose outcomes are uncertain, using an if-clause in the present tense followed by a future-tense clause. The second covers imaginary or unlikely future events, using an if-clause in the past tense followed by a conditional form with would. Examples about vaccination and discovering a cure for COVID-19 illustrate the patterns. The material is attributed to Phoebe Mbaziira at Trinity College Nabbingo and includes a link to the school’s electronic library.
