Numbers Scheme of Work for Middle Class, Term One

This nursery mathematics scheme of work is written for Middle Class learners aged 4–5 and covers Term One. It begins with orientation and a review of the holiday package. It then moves to shapes, where learners sort, match, ring, draw and spell shape names. Next comes counting and recognising numbers 0–20, with work on the number after and the number between, drawing and shading objects, and reading and writing number names from zero to ten. The term ends with sets, including sorting, matching related sets and joining sets. For each lesson the scheme lists competences, teaching methods, life skills, activities, teaching aids and reference books.
