P.5 Social Studies Lesson Notes: Location and Physical Features of Uganda

These Primary Five Social Studies lesson notes start with map skills: the difference between maps and pictures, map symbols, the elements of a good map, compass directions, turning by degrees, and using a scale to work out distance. They then cover how the earth moves and where Uganda lies in East Africa, including its neighbours, the problems of being landlocked, imports and exports, smuggling, and the roles of URA and UNBS. Further sections cover latitudes and longitudes and Uganda's physical features, such as plateaus, block and volcanic mountains, and the rift valley. Guiding questions and exercises appear throughout the notes.
