S.2 History Holiday Work: East African History Essay Questions

This one-page holiday assignment is for Senior Two History learners. It has six two-part essay questions on East African history. Learners describe how the Portuguese conquered the East African coast and how they ran it, explain why the Plain Nilotes migrated and how they settled, and discuss how the Buganda kingdom grew and was organised. Other questions cover the organisation and collapse of the Bunyoro-Kitara empire and how the Indian Ocean trade worked and affected local people. The last question asks how the Nyamwezi, Akamba and Maasai societies were organised. The paper suits revision and independent study during the school break.
