S2 Biology Home-Study Learning Booklet (NCDC, 2020)

The National Curriculum Development Centre and the Ministry of Education and Sports produced this self-study booklet for Senior Two learners during the COVID-19 school closures in 2020. It is split into lessons with practical activities, summary notes and assessment questions that learners can do at home using simple materials. Topics include showing that soil contains air and working out its percentage, what makes soil fertile, and ways to conserve soil such as crop rotation, mulching, weeding, fertilisers and mixed farming. It also covers the nitrogen cycle and starts nutrition in animals, including the main food nutrients and their uses.
