Middle Class Writing Scheme of Work – Term 2

This scheme of work sets out a nine-week Term 2 writing programme for Middle Class nursery learners. Each week covers a small group of letters, ordered by their shape: grass letters, sky letters and ground letters. Children practise forming each letter, then write simple matching words such as moon, fish, hut and jug, and copy repeated patterns. The scheme lists learning outcomes about using language appropriately and gives hand-eye coordination as the main competence. It also names skills such as sharing and listening, suggests learning aids including slates, chalkboards, books and pencils, and refers to a reference text for planning lessons.
