S3 History Revision Questions: Missionaries and Wars in South Africa (July 2021)

This one-page set of Senior 3 History revision questions was prepared at Trinity College Nabbingo and dated 3rd July 2021. It has five two-part essay questions on South African history. The questions ask about what missionaries did in the 19th century and how their work affected local people. They also cover the contributions of John Philip and Johannes van der Kemp and the reasons African Independent Churches were formed. Other questions deal with the causes, course and effects of the Boer–Xhosa (Cape Frontier) wars and the steps Britain took to end them. The last question covers Chief Bambatha's 1906 rebellion and the defeat of the Zulu. Learners can use it to practise structured essay answers and prepare for tests.
