S3 History of East Africa Holiday Work, March/April 2020 (241/1)

This holiday work package for Senior 3 learners covers History of East Africa (paper 241/1) and is set out as two weeks of structured essay questions. The questions cover early life on the East African coast, Arab and Portuguese interest and settlement, the origins and organisation of the Bachwezi, the River-Lake Nilote and Ngoni migrations, the long distance trade, Nandi resistance against British rule, and the part played by missionaries and chartered companies in colonisation. They also cover the religious wars in Buganda. Each question has two parts, asking about causes and then results, so learners can practise essay writing during the school break. No answers are included.
